Big shoes to fill

My dad who is now retired was – and still is – an amazing baker. He had this habit of writing down his recipes on scrap A5 pieces of paper, “laminating” them with clear tape, and then using a clip, would secure it to a stack of other recipes.*

Let’s be realistic – this method just wouldn’t do.

With my dad’s eventual consent to having his recipes shared with more than just his past employees and myself, upon his retirement I decided to recreate all his classics, take photographs, and record his processes to produce something that’s better documented. Big shoes to fill indeed, especially considering how my previous bakes were continually critiqued by the expert himself.

Needless to say, this is going to be one tasty project.

*Although on a positive note, he has started taking photos on his phone of his recipes to digitise them.
